School can really mess you up when it comes to interests, something that you love doing on your spare time can be complete and utter suffering in school. I never had much of a talent for drawing and it did not help that I personally had no interest towards it. Do not take me wrong, I have always loved art, especially music and I admire people who have a great talent for drawing/painting. I went through a very rough patch in December last year (2008) and was in a very bad situation. To just completely think of something else and just take me away from reality for a little bit I actually picked up a pencil and a crappy note book. Of course, everything that I initially sketched out looked like a 3-year old's art (no offense to toddlers), still I stuck with it because it was something new and pleasantly distracting in my life. Eventually after a couple of days I picked up my wife's Tarot, "The Faeries' Oracle" made by the brilliant and talented 'Brian Froud'. I would say that he was the one who helped me, because I got really sucked into his art, the beautiful creatures and environments that 'Froud' has the talent to see (that is a whole other story). After drawing his pieces that I loved doing I got a hold of some books on drawing techniques and any good tutorials I could find basically. I still have loads to go through.
I want to thank 'Brian Froud' for awakening me, he does not know what he has done, but thanks anyway.
I will get my hands on a drawing tablet as soon as I can so I can begin doing artwork digitally.
Thank you for taking your time.
